Some items you will collect can be obtained by collecting enough fruit at every stage, like pieces of a puzzle to unlock costumes. You might be able to advance, but you will need a certain amount of silver pod to collect gifts, and even more for Despicable multiplier. Both are valuable so keep track of your steps and make sure you complete each level to the best of your ability.
